One Pot Bolognese Orzo
This one pot Bolognese orzo is delicious with a time saving twist on the classic Italian pasta dish, Spaghetti Bolognese made in under 25 minutes. With just a single pot and a handful of ingredients this recipe is a hearty and flavourful meal that will satisfy the whole family. The orzo pasta is cooked in the same pan, absorbing all the flavours and becoming perfectly tender.
Once everything is cooked the dish is ready to be enjoyed garnished with a sprinkling of grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil for an added touch of freshness.

Ingredients

Instructions

Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium high heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened.

Add the mince and turn the heat up to high. Cook the mince, breaking it up until browned and add the red wine and cook until absorbed.

Add the remaining ingredients except the orzo. When the liquid comes to a simmer add the orzo, stir then reduce the heat to medium low. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently towards the end to ensure the orzo doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan. If your liquid is evaporating too quickly, just add a splash of hot water.

Remove the pan from the heat. The orzo should cooked through and it should be very saucy when you take it off the heat. Season to taste and give it a good stir. Serve immediately, garnished with freshly grated parmesan and basil, enjoy.
