Spicy Chicken Kebabs

These grilled chicken kebabs are a delicious addition to any BBQ.  They are marinated in yogurt, lemon, garlic and spices.

  • 250 g Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 lemon (zest and 2 tbsp juice)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 4 tsp garlic puree
  • For the kebabs
  • 1 kg chicken thighs, boneless & skinless (excess fat removed & cut into cubes)
  • 1 red onion (cut into chunks)
  • 1 large pepper (cut into chunks)
  1. Place all the marinade ingredients in a large bowl and mix through until fully combined.
  2. Add the chicken and fully coat in the marinade. Cover the bowl with cling film and place in the fridge for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  3. Thread the chicken onto skewers, fold the chicken if the pieces are long and thin. Alternate the chicken with onions and peppers.
  4. Preheat the grill,to medium/high. Grease the grill with oil so the kebabs don't stick. Grill the chicken until golden brown and cooked through, turning the skewers occasionally, about 15 minutes. Transfer the kebabs to a platter and serve - enjoy!
