Ingredients
For the Apples

large Bramley or Granny Smith apples
(Peel, core and cut them into thick slices)

For the Granola Crumble Topping

plain flour

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C / 160°C fan / Gas 4.

Melt the butter in a large ovenproof frying pan, then add the sugar, cinnamon, mixed spice and vanilla. Stir until the apples are coated and starting to soften, around 5 minutes.

In a bowl, rub the cold butter into the flour using your fingertips until it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir through the granola and demerara sugar.

Pour half of the toffee sauce over the apples and gently mix. Sprinkle the granola crumble evenly on top. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the topping is golden and crisp and the apples are tender.

Drizzle over the remaining toffee sauce and serve warm with vanilla ice cream or custard. Enjoy!
