Golden Oat Biscuits

These biscuits are very quick and easy to make all in one pan.  They are melt in your mouth delicious and will be loved by all the family.  The perfect cuppa companion - sometimes simplicity is best!

Ingredients
  • 125 g butter (plus extra for greasing)
  • 1 tbsp golden syrup
  • 125 g caster sugar
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tsp boiling water
  • 125 g self raising flour
  • 125 g porridge oats
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C/140°C Fan/Gas mark 3 and grease a baking sheet.
  2. In a large sauce pan add the butter, syrup, sugar, bicarbonate of soda and water, stir over a medium heat until fully melted. Remove from the heat, add the flour and oats, mix until fully combined
  3. Shape into rounds and place onto a lined baking tray, leaving space between each biscuit as they will spread whilst cooking
  4. Bake in the oven for 10 - 15 minutes until browned. Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool. Put the kettle on and enjoy!
