Ingredients
-
500
g
plain flour
-
2
tsp
baking powder
-
1
tsp
salt
-
300
ml
milk
(or water and a tbsp oil or butter)
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 210°C/190°C Fan/Gas mark 6 and place a baking tray in the oven to heat through.
-
In a large bowl add the flour, baking powder and salt - mix through. Now add the milk and mix together with your hands.
-
On a floured surface knead briefly until a dough is formed. Shape the dough into a disc shape about 3cm thick. Make sure the dough isn't too thick as it won't cook through. Score a deep cross on the top of the dough.
-
Place onto the heated baking tray and bake for 35 minutes until pale brown and a hollow sound when you tap the bottom. Serve warm with lashings of butter.
