Total Time: 45 mins
Ingredients
  • 500 g plain flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 300 ml milk (or water and a tbsp oil or butter)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 210°C/190°C Fan/Gas mark 6 and place a baking tray in the oven to heat through.
  2. In a large bowl add the flour, baking powder and salt - mix through. Now add the milk and mix together with your hands.
  3. On a floured surface knead briefly until a dough is formed. Shape the dough into a disc shape about 3cm thick. Make sure the dough isn't too thick as it won't cook through. Score a deep cross on the top of the dough.
  4. Place onto the heated baking tray and bake for 35 minutes until pale brown and a hollow sound when you tap the bottom. Serve warm with lashings of butter.
